The Maryland Chapter of GAPNA in partnership with Gilchrist is pleased to announce the inaugural DNP Student Scholars Symposium and invites you to submit abstracts for poster presentations. This in-person event will occur on Friday, March 3rd, 2023 from 11:00am-1:00pm at the Greater Baltimore Medical Centre.
The goal of this symposium is to highlight the incredible work Doctor of Nursing Practice students from across the state are conducting, and contribute to students’ peer, collegial, and mentor networks.
Timeline - Poster Abstracts:
- Friday, October 28th, 2022 - Abstract Submission Opens
- Friday, November 18th, 2022 (11:59 PM ET) - Submission Closes
- Friday, December 2nd, 2022 - Notification of Acceptance
Poster Abstract Submissions: We are seeking abstracts for quality improvement projects that have been or are being completed by current students in relation to achievement of a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree within the state of Maryland. Preliminary data will be accepted for purposes of meeting abstract submission deadlines, with the expectation that full results are prepared for dissemination by the date of the symposium.
The following information is required: Background (description of the existing quality gap), objective/aim, quality improvement methods (strategy for improvement, design, setting, participants, interventions, measurements, evaluation), results (impact of the change), and conclusions (transferrable lessons learned).
There is a 3,000-character count limit for poster abstract submissions. This limit does not include the abstract title or authors. Punctuation and spaces do count against the 3,000 character limit.
General Guidelines:
- Presenters do not need to be a member of GAPNA to submit an abstract.
- Please only submit one abstract for acceptance.
- You must be a current student of a Doctor of Nursing Practice program to apply.
- If you experience technical difficulties submitting your application or have questions about the poster submission process, please contact MDGapna@gmail.com.
