Locum - Nurse Practitioner - Hematology Oncology W New

**Location:** Wheaton, MD Wheaton, Maryland offers a vibrant community experience with the perfect blend of urban amenities and suburban charm. Located just outside Washington D.C., it provides healthcare professionals easy access to cultural attractions, diverse dining options, and beautiful parks while maintaining a more relaxed lifestyle than the capital. **Facility:** This comprehensive cancer center shares space with a Radiation Treatment Center staffed by two physicians. The facility features a collaborative environment with a part-time hematology-oncology physician, breast surgeon, surgical oncologists, patient navigator, social worker, medical assistant, and practice manager. They utilize EPIC EMR for documentation and have a separate outpatient infusion center located just 2 miles away. **Opportunity:** ACLS,Board Certified - Hematology/Oncology **Job Details:**

• Outpatient practice setting with option for M-W-F 8-hour days OR M-F 8-hour days
• Coverage needed from August 2025 (or as soon as credentialed) until permanent position is filled
• Patient population includes adult and geriatric patients
• Practice consists of 25% Hematology and 75% Oncology
• Average patient volume of 10 outpatient and 2 hospital patients per day
• Total patient load of approximately 70-80 patients, many being chronic management cases
• Required procedures include intracavitary chemotherapy, intrathecal chemotherapy, FNA/biopsy, and management of VAD/CV catheters
• Additional duties include participation on tumor board, blood bank responsibilities, ordering tests and images, and prescription management
• Spanish-speaking patients common, but interpreter services are available
• Local candidates preferred but travel accommodations available **Compensation:** Competitive hourly rates with weekly pay and malpractice included.
