“Assessment, Management and Prevention of Psychiatric Emergencies Among Patients with Serious Mental Illness in Post-Acute and Long-Term Care”
Monday, September 22, 2025, at 7 P.M. Eastern via Zoom
Guest Speaker – Elizabeth Galik, PhD, CRNP, FAAN, FAANP
At the end of the presentation, learners will be able to (1) discuss the historical perspective of serious mental illness and post-acute and long-term care patients; (2) assess emergent behavioral or psychiatric symptoms and establish a preliminary differential diagnosis; (3) create an initial treatment plan to reduce or prevent challenging behavioral or psychiatric symptoms and establish appropriate follow-up and referral to a psychiatric specialist; and (4) develop facility-based solutions to improve the care for individuals with serious mental illness
This educational activity will be submitted to the American Association of Nurse Practitioners® for approval of up to 1 contact hour of accredited education.
